Rounding out our busy weekend was the Fordham Spring Weekend 07 in the Bronx. What a beautiful campus! You’d never know you were in the middle of the Bronx (not that there’s anything wrong with the Bronx!). The kids were great, so was the music, the food…and of course the 2,000 Maui Wowi smoothies we served.

We were supposed to be outside in Washington Square Park, but it rained on NYU’s annual Strawberry Festival. We were moved inside but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the 2,000+ students who visited for a Strawberry Banana smoothie, some cotton candy, strawberry taffee…the only thing missing was Pepto Bismol (which would have been the right color, sorta). It was a great event sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and the Health Services department of NYU.

It’s been college week at Maui Wowi. Here we are at Passaic County Community College in Patterson NJ. That’s my oldest daughter Jane behind the counter–home from college and earning a living! (And being recruited by the Marines. Nice try fellas!)

Spring has finally arrived in New York! And not a moment too soon. We were slingin’ smoothies at the St. John’s University annual Spring Fling on April 20 and the weather was perfect. We served about 1500 smoothies in four hours to the patient folks you see on line in the photo below. At left, Jane and Nathan do the blending.
